What started as a beautiful banner day at Big White Ski Resort yesterday turned to tragedy after a 27-year-old snowboarder from Vancouver died after hitting a tree.
Resort spokesperson Michael J. Ballingall was clearly struggling with the situation when contacted today.

KELOWNA, B.C — A Vancouver snowboarder died Saturday morning at Big White Ski Resort east of Kelowna, B.C. Spokesman Michael Ballingal, said the young man had been inbounds on an intermediate hill.

A 23-year-old Los Angeles man died after hitting his head while snowboarding at the Snow Summit Ski Area in Big Bear Lake, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office said today.
